Thank you Nancy and Elaine for sharing the legend, Keith Green, with us as his caregivers. It was great to be apart of his life and to introduce him to my kids. I as his โcaregiverโ loved him just as I do my own family and he definitely will be missed from us.
I first met him and Nancy G when they moved into The Peaks, I was their MedTech/caregiver and they were just the best of people! Later in the year I became Keithโs private caregiver under TLC, I was assigned to him Monday-Thursday and took him to all his appointments. I always looked out for him as I did my own grandparents and I took great pride in doing so because I knew he was loved and cared for.
I always made sure to give him a hug and tell him โI love you Keithโ before leaving for the day.
To hear of his passing was very heartbreaking to me and my kids but Iโm glad we got to share special moments together, especially taking him to the Swiss Independence for the past three years! We had made plans to go again this year and my kids and I will be there in his honor!
We love you Nancy and Elaine!!! Please know that my kids and I are always here for you both. Sending you both all our love and blessings and knowing that Keith is forever loved and will always be missed.
My most favorite memory of Keith is when we talked about home cooked meals and mutton! It just so happened that my daughter Q was scheduled with him for the evening and she brought him back to our home and he devoured that fry bread! Haha! Just to watch him eat and enjoy my home cooked meal, I was very honored and thankful. He was iffy about the mutton so I made roast beef with mashed potatoes, gravy and green chili. Lol! But it was great treat to bring him home to enjoy a hot home cooked meal. ๐ I wish we couldโve had more home cooked meals and more memories but the Lord and Nancy G needed him more.
I love you always Keith!!!

Nancy Green Timper: Thank you very much for making this wonderful online tribute to your brother and my friend, Keith Green. He will be missed by the many souls he touched throughout his 78 years.
I first met Keith when I accepted a volunteer position with the National Park Service in October, 1975. Keith was one of the very first persons' I met living in the bottom of the Grand Canyon. In many ways, he introduced me to the magic of living in the "Inner Space" of the canyon, as he loved to call it (conversely he called the Rim "Outer Space"). I recall the many evenings he and I (and others) took walks to the Silver Bridge to stand over the Colorado River and watch the colorful days turn into brilliant starry nights. In some ways, I became wedded to the canyon because of Keith's own embrace of it. He taught me to be "in" the canyon. In those days, Keith was not yet a legend but was on his way to becoming one.
Twenty-five years later, I watched Keith at his very best when he gave his now famous slide presentation of the history of Phantom Ranch, inside a completely packed Cantina at the Millennium Party on December 31, 2000. Keith had 120 former and current Ranchers in stitches as he gave his version of Phantom's colorful history. That is how I will remember Keith, always ready to laugh, always ready to party, always sure that the canyon life was the best life to live! He was right then and remains right forever.

Not long after Keith became a Ranger for the GCNP our parents, Ken and Esther Green and the family visited. We accompanied him on an Interpretive walk on the South Rim. I watched in awe as he pointed out Canyon features on the opposite rim and below. I knew what his visitors did not, that he couldn't even see his feet much less what he was accuratly pointing toward. I was struck by how well he knew the Canyon and what a perfect role he filled for the Park Service in spite of their reluctance to hire him. Our Bro was a great one and terribly missed. RIP, Keith.
Shoshone Point was perfect! Loved hearing all the stories about Keith and Nancy thru the years! Mine is that I only played 3 games of cribbage with Keith, but he beat me every time! I was lucky to know those two for 35+ years! They are greatly missed.
Enjoyed seeing the pictures. Sure wish I could have known him better.
Missed you all at Shoshone, though loved hearing about stories and tributes shared. And the family pictures are a treasure!

SO great to see everyone - wish I could have talked to each of you more than I did. The love - and the stories - were a balm to the soul. - Nancy
